I had the honour of being a part of the Original Sin Show 2025 in St. Petersburg, Florida a short number of weeks ago!
The competition – in it’s 4th year – was themed ‘1692’. The organizers Amber and Rachael say that this theme is an invitation to “…channel the fury and resilience of those wrongfully accused, burnt at the stake, and hung as witches in Salem… In a realm where fear once silenced the innocent, competitors are encouraged to explore the darker facets of their creativity. They will weave narratives of vengeance—drawing from fictitious or factual tales, historical injustices, social struggles, and beyond. They will craft performances that honor the spirits of the wronged and embody the fury of the betrayed.”
I think you’ll agree with me that this vibe is everything.

In response to this theme, I developed an act to channel the spirit of Tlachtga (pronounced ‘Tlok-tah’) – an Irish goddess of fire and lightning.
Her name, meaning ‘Earth Spear,’ symbolizes the power to summon sacred fire from darkness and reclaim authenticity and strength.
A lesser-known Irish goddess, Tlachtga is said to have travelled the world on a flaming wheel of lightning, gathering magical knowledge. But her story has been distorted and rewritten by medieval Christian scribes, diminishing her power and leaving her name all but forgotten in modern Irish folklore.
But she is not forgotten. In this reimagining, I present Tlachtga’s story as a celebration of fiery power, resilience, and transformation — to challenge disempowering narratives and honour the deep connection between ancient Irish wisdom and North American witches, including those wronged in Salem.
Like witches burned at the stake, Tlachtga is not defined by her victimhood. She is a Goddess of immense power, who reminds us to fiercely reject falsehoods, move forward into new beginnings with courage, and honour that which is sacred.
After all, rage can be sacred. Let lightning strike and burn it to the ground.

Like any big performance, it takes a village. I have a long list of people to thank who supported me in the run up to this event:
- Agata from Sway Movewear for designing and creating my costume, it really helped me to channel this goddess and her vibes!
