It’s taken me a while to get around to editing this highlight reel of my live art performance with chocolate, ‘The Sweets Of Sin’, at Mallow Arts Festival 2024.
Strength, vulnerability and the visceral melt together, collapsing the boundary between the performer and the observer in this 35-minute live performance. In this edited video you can catch condensed glimpses of it in 7-minutes.
Taking its name from a salacious novel within Joyce’s ‘Ulysses’, this performance is an autobiographical exploration of embodied experience, identity and attachments of a woman born and raised in a post-Catholic Celtic Tiger Era Ireland.
Dancing on 8-inch sculptural stiletto shoes made of chocolate (and later feeding them to the audience), I seek to awaken a sense of wonder at what a body can do and to consider what it means to exist in female form in contemporary Ireland.
Thank you so much Sabina Lucas and all at the West End Art Studio for having me at the Mallow Arts Festival! The warm welcome I received made me feel right at home with the attentive audience present.
My humble request as always:
If you enjoy this performance and found it inspiring, joyful, anything at all sure, why not show the love by tipping me the cost of a coffee? Thank you, you gorgeous being! I appreciate you immensely 🖤
